Re: Battery?

Before I got into just welding as a profession, I spent a decade as an ASE certified mechanic, both on heavy duty diesels and automobiles. I can tell you with the full backing of every single OEM out there that you can do major damage to the modules in the vehicle if the ground lead is not disconnec...

Re: READY OR NOT...I'm goin for it

Make sure before you go to the test that you know exactly what you will and will not be allowed to used for tools. Some let you have a grinder only to prep plates, after that it is taken away. Re: What I welded today....

Re: best all around helmet?

A cheap and restricted helmet is going to hinder your progress simply because you won't s...

Hello from Wisconsin

Hi guys, I'm Nick and new to this forum. I spent 10 years as a diesel/heavy equipment tech prior to this year when I decided to hang that up. In that field you end up doing a lot of repair and fabrication on things that are going to be abused with a lot of weight on them, so I became quite adept at ...

Re: Lincoln 256 or miller 252 ?

I used an ESAB Migmaster 275 for a few years in my own shop. Controls are a lot like the older Millermatic 250, but you can get optional digital modules too. Got it as a demo item at my local weld supply. I had never used anything but Lincoln or Miller before but I found that machine to be an absolu...
