Re: bending sch. 10 stainless

I could get it in .035 or .063 I am guessing but my brother says 20 ft lengths are hard to hide in his truck, I imagine it would bend easier but all fall sch 10 is easier to get for free EDIT: if it looks good enough for it to stay on my mower it will show up here, I know its an MTD but I made it mine

Re: Welding stainless exhaust?

if it has carbon deposits from exhaust flowing through it you should really clean that out first as well, welding on used exhaust has always been a troublesome experience for me, speaking from mig welding exhaust experience btw. I have found removing the carbon from inside of the used pipe make it l...

Re: Dovetail repair on a Circle D trailer.

I would say yes that was bad work, attacking them for bad work is bad on your part though, in my auto shop I do lots of repairs that other shops make but I never say anything bad about them in any manner, I let my work speak for itself,

Re: Anyone use Simadre?

I have one of the simadre 3in1 machines you are talking about, I have had great luck with mine, with that being said. I would not attempt truck frame repairs with a machine like this, its good for light fabrication and hobby projects but I don't think its going to be a good or even OK machine for he...

being an auto tech for 20 years and building several of my own race engines, and knowing boats are simply expensive to work on, because hey if ya got a boat you got money to sink, (not my philosophy but boat techs and shops see it this way),a replacement block and following proper winterizing proced...

Re: TIG welding practice on mild steel, porosity problem

Chuck, First I will say you are doing great! Looks like you are getting consistency down. For advice on how to feed your wire, I personally find it easier to not wear a glove on my feeding hand. I like the feel of the bare hand over the glove. This may or may not be a good habit to learn but it is ...

being an engine block it, pitch it out in the scrap pile, cylinder wall distortion, cam bore distortion, main bearing bearing web distortion could have happened to that block, its not a one of a kind casting and replacements are available

so i know what to tell the electrician..... would a 30 amp or 40amp breaker be sufficient. i looked at the multiplug outlet and its got a 15 am breaker. should have realized that wouldn't be enough. thanks! A 30 amp breaker should be sufficient, that is what I wired my Miller 175 with using 12-2/G ...

Re: Rookie move's

I have a 211 at my auto repair shop, I hate it on 110, it buzzes and carrys on like an old nagging wife, hook it up on 230 and it really welds like a miller should, almost as smooth as my 175 I have here in my home shop, if you are running it on 110 definitely hire an electrician to put you a 30 amp...
