Don't discount wood either. I know many welders will groan at the idea but it's handy for jigging on the fly. Some 2"x2" blocks with screws in them and you have a jig system for everything. When I weld steel on it, I can TIG weld one half of all the welds on the table without messing it u...

140 amps and 1.6mm filler sounds wrong to me should be at least 2.4mm plus for those amps

I'll agree I'm in adelaide doing my welding courses and you are told to do 2f and you pretty much have to figure it out on your own, same with other positions and materials
