gas is so cheap...big lens, run 30cfm, set your amps correct, and have fun :) Dont worry about the increased gas.....do some shopping, here in arizona I pay $32 per LARGE bottle of argon

nothing bad at all. If you have the funds and want, I can order a piece of ar500, cut it to a shape you like (rounded corners etc) and have it shipped to you.

I have 2 tables here in my shop. 1 is AR500 in 1/2" thick and another table that is aluminum with 3/4" thick aluminum.

The reason those guys' shops are so clean and pristine is because they never actually use the machines or make anything with them, they're too busy being online trying to one up each other. idk about that.. I keep my shop clean because I believe a clean and tidy shop promotes a good healthy environ...

Waterjet usually works great all of the time without any issues. sometimes may need to re-cut a piece but usually the part is still good. Cutting that $2800+ plate was a bit nerve wrecking though!

I have cut some closed assemblied but not many. Things that get cut after the fabrication are welded up with thick plate steel inside that can be removed after holes are cut so that the jet stream doesnt go through the material. I also cut lots of square holes in steel and aluminum tubing 1/4" ...

The deal is they dont know things like that..and its my job as a waterjet OWNER and OPERATOR to inform them that $3 a min is just way too much. They can get far more $$ per month by charging less. I charge $150 an hour in my shop and im the one doing all the work. They are charging $180 an hour plus...
