Antorcha - I too am a little confused by the point of the original post, but from what i can gather you area a little frustrated by a past experience with buying a plasma system? If that's the case, then i have a few thoughts: Any salesman that is TRULY interested in helping a customer will take the...

Re: Linclon Square Wave 200
Postflow seems to be about 7-8 seconds. Excessive for most applications, but I would say since it's a non-adjustable parameter Lincoln wants to make sure it would cover anything someone would need postflow for. From the hobbyist prospective, it probably doesn't matter to most. We had a small class t...

Frequency adjustment to 150
PPS up to 20
I don't recall the postflow setting, but it didn't strike me as excessive. 16 seconds sounds like a lot! I'll double check this morning and report back.

Linclon Square Wave 200
Well it arrived Friday. Caveat - I am not a pro TIG guy, just a salesman at a LWS. Waiting for SuperiorWelding to get in our demo room to give it a test run... Then you all can have a real pro give you the skinny ;) First impressions- The front panel looks and is extremely easy to use. Nice compact ...

Re: Unbreakable TIG cup-@superiorwelding
To all- Jon was kind enough to bring the cup to the LWS and show it to me. Although I haven't tested it (which I'm not sure what that would be worth anyway with my limited TIG experience), I was very impressed with the design and overall concept. Looking forward to seeing this project develop! Jon -...

Re: Miller 175, feed
Over tightening the drive rolls may be causing your problem. Tubular wire does not respond well to tight drive rolls. The extra tension can smash or collapse the tube, making your wire anything but round and causing the wire to stop feeding properly through the contact tip. Loosen them up to like 3 ...

Re: fab wire inner sheild
Sal,
I would make a phone call to Lincoln or Hobart technical on this. Those guys are very helpful in choosing a filler metal. My first thought is they will recommend NR-211or NR-212 but I would call and find out.
Let us know how it turns out

OR one production run of the machine and literature recommended spool sizes but needed to be changed after some customer feedback (my drive motor burned up)?

Re: Lincoln powermig 210mp first hand user review.
Perhaps the larger spool will fit, but TWECO does not recommend using it? I'm thinking the drive motor may not like the heavier weight. Maybe both are correct? If you take a close look at the 252i, it looks about the same size (I don't have the manuals in front of me). Could they have used the same ...

Re: RMD
It can be described as a 'colder' process than short circuit. It uses a technology like pulse and a volt sense lead to transfer the wire droplet similar to surface tension transfer. Useful also on very thin material. Not really something that is useful in everyday welding applications. I guess what ...

Re: Aluminum question, MIG.
Thought I'd chime in with some limited knowledge of the subject... One thing helpful to know would be the length of each weld... I would stick with standard pulse for a few reasons: 1) 1/8" material with .047" spray - would be difficult to control quality - if it could be done at all consi...

Re: Oxy-Acetylene Hoses??
SuperiorWelding asked me about this topic so i thought i should chime-in (we all do what Jonathan says, right?). Be very careful about thinking it's safe to use something that's 'non-flammable' and thinking it's oxygen safe. HUGE DIFFERENCE. Oxygen is an ACCELERANT. So let's say you use the 'non-fla...

Re: new machine ordered. giddy!
Great beads and awesome machine! Just curious, have you turned the machine to 400Hz? I only ask because we had a customer buy one and 400Hz blows his board every time (3 replaced). Miller acknowledges there may be a problem. Just curious what your experience is.
Thanks

Re: Hobart flux cor wire
May be wrong here but most dual shield is run EP. Also, do you have knurled drive rolls? If the wire is getting crushed at the feed rolls you wouldn't know until it hits the tip... causing your issue. Check tension and polarity!
