Re: Did I make the Right Decision on the Makita LC1230 ?

First off. The way to cut mitres on angle, or angle 3mm thick and under is to pack the angle in the vice with a piece of square tube the same as your angle. IE: 1" or 25mm angle = put a bit of 25mm square inside the angle, the length or longer than the jaw of the vice. Problem solved. This is ...

Re: Melting Tungsten

So going by this, the machine (when hooked up dcep) already flips the polarity from the feed power, and power is flowing from the + lead to the -?

Re: Chop Saw

All great info guys, thanks. Looks like a portaband or cold-saw will go on the wish list! Is it normal for an abrasive to wander in both directions.. top to bottom of the cut as well as front to back? Yeah, It will wander both directions.... I'll be buying a Morse 14" cold saw pretty soon.... ...

Por15 is supposed to be good for frames in the vehicle world.
I would think anything industrial grade would work fine.

Old thread, but still same thing.
What's the best way to get a even land on pipe?
And are there any tricks to keep the gap from opening or closing while tacking?

Re: Forklift fork repair

I don't think Jonathan is repairing, was just showed it by his buddy.
I would suggest using something like some railroad ties to keep the logs up off the ground.
One well built set of forks should last forever.

That helmet is not AD, it's a Lincoln Super visibility shade 9. Fibre metal. No plastic garbage....plastic shell on a helmet is like latex welding gloves...they melt.... I can attest to that. Lol My $40 northern tool cheapo is getting hammered. Mainly right below the lense is a stupid flat spot, so...

Oh nice, so would I be "correct" in saying it stacks like 7024, but goes on like 6010?
If I had the money, I would trade some 7018 for those 6013's, for shipping. But I'm already in the hole. Lol

Re: The D3v's welding adventure

I would at least turn the tank off. I actually had a question on mig, how important is it to purge the oxygen from the line before welding? (Hopefully someone will know) But as far as bleeding it down, being low as the pressure is, I don't see it wasting much gas, nor would I see if harming anything...
