Re: Welding upper diff mount on chevy truck and welder purch

My dad used to do a lot of repairs for local off-road enthusiasts who regularly tore up their trucks. I remember him welding several differential cases and brackets, etc. with 7018 and having good success. Just my .02 worth. I am sure properly done mig would work as well. This was in the '70s and my...

Re: Help with Cigweld Tig

I think you could wire in another gas solenoid with a timer separate from the original. Unless the built in system has sensors for gas pressure/flow, it shouldn't be a problem. The built in post flow timer would still operate the original solenoid just without anything actually connected to it. Just...

Re: Hello with a simple introduction

Welcome, Jake. I have a 210MP and I love it. It mig welds beautifully and does fine with stick also. I haven't purchased the tig attachment so I can't comment on that but I haven't found anything not to like about it so far.
Cheers.

Re: Rookie to Tig...trying to break in Miller Synchrowave 21

The pic looks like a gas flow problem to me. I know it's obvious but most (all?) of us have forgotten to turn the gas on at some point. Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Re: Voltage/current curves

I bought an old Lincoln SA-200 on my way home today. This welder has been converted for propane. I tried it out and liked it, so as with everything else, it followed me home. 8-) Life is fun! It will come in handy on the acreage, when I start messing around with shipping container garages. Score!

Re: No penetration/LOF

So I'm now using .030 solid wire. Black clamp wire on negative terminal. Red wire feed on positive terminal If I were somehow only getting 110v instead of 220v that might be giving me the problems I'm having? That would definitely limit your output substantially if the machine runs at all. Wouldn't...

I know this is obvious, but have you verified correct polarity on your machine?

Inductance

Greetings, all. Until recently I've never had a machine with inductance setting. Can someone explain what it's for?

Re: Grinding Aluminum

I agree with Steve. I once tried some bandsaw blade wax on a 7 inch right angle grinder to keep the stone from loading up while grinding cracks in an aluminum fuel tank. I had much trouble welding it until going back over everything with a new flap disk and wiping everything with acetone and then st...
