Re: Another hitch cactus

It's just scrap tubing. I cut little pie wedges out of the arms then bent them to shape. The base is a 3/4 inch bolt with the head ground round to fit in the bottom. Then I welded the arms on and ran a lot of fairly cold stringer beads. The flange thing at the bottom in the photo is just some random...

Re: Another hitch cactus

I measured on my dad's truck and it has just a hair over 9 inches between the open tailgate and the receiver hitch. The cactus I made him is 8.75 so it's close but doesn't hit. The one I just made is about a half inch shorter than the first.

Re: Another hitch cactus

I see guys with Chevy, Ford, and Mopar emblems and various other things on their receiver hitches and since I live in the desert, I thought "Why not cactus?"
Now I need to make El Chupacabra!

Re: Another hitch cactus

Bolts in place of the ball when it's not being used. I guess one could use one of these to go all medieval on someone but being the civilized bunch we are, we would never consider such a thing...

Ah, who am I kidding? I think those types of thoughts every day lol

Re: Eastwood Versacut 60 or 40 plasma cutters ?

Thanks WerkSpace. I doubt the caps in my machine have much more time on em that what it took for the printing on the case to dry lol. I don't think I cut more than 12 feet total with it before it died. Had it apart once already because the pot to adjust current broke right off at the knob (plastic s...

Re: Eastwood Versacut 60 or 40 plasma cutters ?

Electrolytic caps are frequently the problem with many non-functioning electronic items. I have a large stash of components from my ham radio days but idk how good some of them are. I may have a go at fixing my cutter but have been looking for a good way to justify a new one lol Sent from my iPhone ...

No pipe fittings. Just old pieces of pipe. Cut pie wedges with cut off wheel and bent them. slotted the tops with the same wheel and beat with a hammer until rounded ish. Re: PowerMig 210 MP initial impressions

My dad wanted a cactus for a trailer hitch ornament. I just finished this (except for the green paint), purposely running my machine way on the cold side with a fast travel speed. So-so cold beads look remarkably cacti-like  This Lincoln didn't miss a beat and ran quite nicely way outside its r...

Garden hose hanger

Greetings y'all. A friend of mine asked me if I would build him a hook to attach to the back wall of his house to hang a garden hose on. I may have gotten a little carried away
This is 100% from recycled scrap pieces.
Cheers.

A spring loaded wheel that returns to zero by itself may be all I need. It's when I try to taper off that my hand movements usually stub the electrode.

Steady-Grip

Greetings y'all. Since I can't use a foot pedal, I'm always on the lookout for better options for amperage control. I have the rotary thumb control on my 280DX that I think is Miller's own. I just saw the Steady-Grip hand control on the CK Worldwide site. Does anyone here have any experience with th...
