Re: PowerMig 210 MP initial impressions

Today i welded some really thin crappy metal on a sculpture I'm building and decided to trim the nozzle to get a shorter stickout as the tip was recessed slightly. Seemed to help. Also ran a half dozen 1/8" 7018 rods at 120 amps. It seemed to burn a little hotter than I usually get at 120 on ot...

Re: Removing Broken Skid Plate Bolt

In my former career as a heavy equipment field mechanic, removing stubborn broken bolts was something I did a lot of. If it is broken flush, you are lucky. I always welded a washer on a size smaller than the bolt, mainly to protect the threads. Then weld a nut on using plenty of amps so you get good...

I asked for it specifically after determining that to be the distances my head usually is from my welds.

Re: Unique little layout square I started making

Looks like a sweet little tool. Any plans to make a bigger one? I've had times when I needed to mark 2.5 foot circles but a piece of string tied to a magnet got the job done.

I just had my eye doc make me a pair of glasses for 1.5 to 3 foot range. Not quite like readers. They work great for me so far for welding.

Re: Easiest CAD to learn?

avoCADo is listed as pre-alpha and has not been updated in several years. I think I'll give sketchup a try and see if it meets my needs. I have zero CAD experience but I'll see how it goes. Thanks for the replies.
Cheers.

PowerMig 210 MP initial impressions

Greetings everyone. I got my 210MP hooked up and spent an hour or so just experimenting with settings and running test beads etc. It welds beautifully with 100% CO2 and 030 ER70S6 wire. I found that I could get a fair ways from the recommended parameters and it would still weld fairly well. I haven'...

Easiest CAD to learn?

Good Afternoon (ish), everyone. Since retiring, most of my welding has been of the "odds and ends" variety or artistic. I am wanting to design and build some custom wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment, as the stuff currently on the market mostly seems designed by able bodied persons. ...

Lincoln 210 MP. Thoughts?

Greetings. So my trusty old Handler 150 has developed two modes of operation. Ok and crap. At this point, I never know which one I'm going to get when I pull the trigger. I just purchased a new Lincoln 210 MP to take its place. I'll hook it up in the morning and get a little seat time with it. Does ...

Thanks everyone for the feedback. @Owr that looks like precisely what I need  A torch-mate is on my wish list. Right below the strong hand table. Re: Cutting Table. Ideas Wanted

An idea that popped into my tiny little mind: I wonder if you might incorporate a pantograph into your table. That would allow you to control the cutting operation from a distance (to address balance, burn, and fume issues) and you could work at a surface or desk that's a comfortable height. Plus, ...
