Your trailer is looking good. If those are backward left-handed welds, it doesn't show.

Tantalum

I hope someone here can point me in the right direction. I have approx 24 lbs of tantalum I want to sell. I have been unable to find a good place to sell it. I have an assay sheet for it to certify purity. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

Re: Rat rod

Healing well thanks. I just returned from the wound clinic and the overall size of my burn has gone from 6 X 5-1/2 cm to 4 X 4-1/2. No sign of infection so in a couple more weeks it'll just be another in a long line of scars.
Cheers.

Re: Rat rod

The copper parts are soldered on. With the exception of the tie rod ends and springs which are brazed, everything else is tig welded.

Added the seat and roll bar yesterday. Still working on the steering wheel and headlights and a few little details but it's coming together better than I'd hoped.

Re: Welding ferrite?

The stuff is definitely not weldable. At least not in any conventional way. My tig will spark the hi freq but won't strike an arc on it. I started the arc on a piece of steel and walked it over to the ferrite which promptly exploded into powder near the arc.
Thanks for the replies.

A customer asked me to weld some ferrite pieces from some kind of transformer core. Is this even possible? what process would one use? Filler?

Re: Mouth operated valve?

Thanks. I knew someone on here would have a good idea. That looks like just the ticket. That switch and a solenoid valve and I'll be set. I think I'll rig something similar for the pedal on my electronic piano :)

Mouth operated valve?

I've been eyeing a planishing hammer at harbor freight but from what I see, one sorta needs to use both hands to control your piece of metal. As I can't use a foot pedal I'm looking at maybe rigging up a mouth operated valve. We have people here from many industries and I may be trying to reinvent t...
