Re: Buying a new TIG. Analogue or Digital? Chinese or Brandn

Well, no offense, but I dug really deep this last two years and discovered that both Everlast and Longivity welders are extremely over-hyped where they spend HUGE money promoting their junk Chinese welders thru questionable west coast marketers, and also flood boards like this with false reviews..Pl...

Re: Dryers for gas and air compressor

BTW, if you are in the market for a large hi cap shop air compressor, then shop Harbor Freight. That compressor you see in my pic is a 5 horse single phase with 60 gallon tank....NOT a single part of it is made in China...The tank is made in USA and ASME certified, the electric motor is also made in...

Re: Dryers for gas and air compressor

Here ya go...this is my compressor/dryer setup..... I use this to protect my Plasma cutter...I use installed bypass manifold to bypass the dryer for sandblasting or air tool use. that white box on bottom is a simple and cheap Harbor Freight refrigerated air dryer....near the top just below the large...

Re: Dryers for gas and air compressor

On your air compressor, just install one of these....It's an electronic automatic blowdown control...it only activates if your compressor is energized.....Here I am test fitting where I might install it.

Re: Growing up old school

Thanks for sharing that. There's something to be said about growing up old school. I worked in a dirt floor garage growing up and also had uncles who had rough edges. We had the house that all the neighbor kids hung out at because we had all the tools and no adult supervision. My dad had trucks and...

Re: Growing up old school

As soon as I could I joined navy and got on nuclear submarines and stayed gone for 20 years...after that I came home and built my dad a house next door and us a shop and filled it with cabinet making stuff. But dad was still dad and still mean and hateful...he died a few years later and I chased ski...

Re: HELP JODY...WELDING CAMERA?

Jodie don't visit here and reply. He posts vids on his main site and sells stuff on another. He offers us this forum at his expense where we can interact. It's just business, but that is the way it is. His vids are always entertaining and his advice always spot on, but that is his business model and...

Lawton, Oklahoma.....Southwest Lawton, out in the middle of no where...Not a single tree in sight for miles.....Late 50's My dad was career Army stationed at Ft. Sil and was never home. Only house in sight was my uncle's, Lee Camp. He was dirt poor and a welder by trade. He had dirt floored welding ...

Re: Dynasty 200 DX

Old post I know, but today just buy the HTP-221 and forget it. You will save over a thousand bucks and get more TIG/STICK features and arc control compared to the Miller Dynasty 200 DX. And no, the HTP-221 ain't made in China /it is made in Italy where inverter tech rules. Google key words "HTP...

Re: welding on a desiel tank

Water and light diesel fuel cohabitate. .That is why you have pin holes in bottom of tanks. Remove tanks, fill with water and rotate them upside down, then TIG up the pinholes....Then roll them over and drain the water....Just drain it, and reinstall...you ain't gotta dry them out beyond that. I mai...

What do I hate to weld/repair? Expanded metal. I even hate fooling with it when new....I hate handling it, cutting it, welding it and especially repairing it. I also hate doing drywall and painting and plumbing. What do I love? I love making a small block go rumpty rump rump. I hate middle aged fat ...

Re: Dryers for gas and air compressor

I don't understand the need for a gas dryer for use with MIG welder as long as you use bottled gas from welding gas supplier...I admit I ain't never read/watched Jody address it tho....I've been welding alum with spool gun fed by Argon from 150 cf bottle bought at my LWS and never had probs. For my ...

Re: I love Jodie's latest welder cart...because..

Thanks for allowing me to spout, but I want to add that my Hobart welders have proven flawless and able to handle stiff usage between me and my younger neighbors that run mud racing trucks and street racing junk. That Harbor Freight plasma cutter really is a hard working and reliable machine too-it ...

Caution!...If you too decide to fab up a 110VAC gang box so all your grinders can remain plugged in and mount it under your table, PLEASE PLEASE first mount the gang box to a plywood piece, then attach the plywood to your metal table so as to isolate your grounds. Otherwise the first time you fire u...
