Re: Everlast PowerArc 140st - Any reviews?
Great little machine, excellent duty cycle. AHP has a 160 amp stick welder that I think is even smaller, coming out gmail the next few weeks hopefully. It will be $249 or less. Will know once I get some in stock

Re: Should I buy an ultralight hose for AHP Alphatig 200X V4
The 16 model torch (Orange hose) is pretty flexible, The only way to see a big difference in flex is going to a 3 hose water cooled setup, but that is actually heavier because you are supporting the weight of the water flowing too. And more fiber and nylon to make the hoses. A model 9 being a smalle...

Re: Having Major Trouble With Everlast Power TIG 210EXT
...What I've noticed on my machine is that I don't always get an arc when I press the foot pedal, but if I touch the tungsten to the grounded work piece first I do get the arc... I have the same issue occasionally on a Miller Sychrowave 250DX, a transformer machine. When it won't fire, I let off th...

Re: More Aluminum MIG VIdeos Please.
With helium mix as well. You really don't need helium on aluminum MIG from a hobbyist standpoint. My reasoning for this. Aluminum is already a very hot process because it's spray transfer, not short circuit. If your machine does not have enough amps to weld the material you are working with, then a...

Other option is to buy some cobalt blue safety glasses and wear them under your welding hood. Jackson Balder series if you want a great auto blue lens

Any chamce of using suit case wire feeders with dc engine welders ?? Maybe get JD to compare with fluxcore dual shield setup see if theres much difference in his setup and engine supply power. Chucke2009 did one but be good to have your take on the set up. Cheers. I have ran my ESAB off several Pow...

Re: Millermatic 211 spool gun
Start with your wire speed maxed out, This stops you melting into the tip. Then adjust your wire speed so the aluminum is not stubbing into the joint. Hold about 5/8 inch standoff. Aluminum used a bigger standoff than steel. Wire should vaporize before it hits the puddle, but you want to be able to ...

Re: suggestions on what TIG welder to get?
"1 and 3 phase operation 240V (minimum voltage 208 V)" does this mean it does Phase 1 or 3? because i wont be able to obtain a phase 3 plug, but the phase 1 is standard dryer plug (right?), so if you can pick, or it comes w/ both, that is awesome, but if its phase 3 thats a problem, sorry...

Re: best looking tig art projects?
Large filler rod would be my guess Reason being, especially with aluminum, if you use large rod, it will cool the puddle very rapidly and freeze before the puddle has time to wet out. Combined with a slow pulse or manual pulse might get that look. A steady hand is the other part you need... http://u...

Re: Is pulse worth the extra money???
I was just told about AHP machines as well... I could get the AHP200X for about 800 shipped to my door. And that is an AC/DC machine which would leave me money to get a MIG from the as well. Does anybody have any experience with AHP? It doesn't have as many bells and whistles as the Everlast ones b...

Re: suggestions on what TIG welder to get?
I've demoed the 250ex, The extra 50amps are worthwhile over most in this price range that are at 200amps. Feature wise it has everything you would need. Next step up would be something like the HTP221 then step to a Dynasty.. "1 and 3 phase operation 240V (minimum voltage 208 V)" does thi...

Re: Is pulse worth the extra money???
TIG high speed pulse on stainless is very nice to have. Esp for controlling heat input. Not really necessary on most MIG. I would recommend getting a dedicated AC/DC TIG welder do you can do.aluminum TIG, then get a separate dual voltage MIG welder. My recommendation would be an AHP200x TIG and a Tw...

Re: Underpowered 120 volt stick/lift tig machine.
I can't be the only one trying to learn tig with a "toaster". I picked up a cheap 120 volt inverter because the sales guy said "It's a tig welder too". It will only manage about 70 amps before it blows my 15 amp breaker. I have an electrician adding a sub panel to my garage this...

Re: Any thoughts on Eastwood TIG200?
Lanse (ChuckE2009) did a video a while back comparing the AHP AlphaTIG 200x, the Eastwood Tig 200 and the Longevity Tig Weld 200sx. I forget what his conclusions were, but here's the URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oISSe0Itq7U I have an AHP and like it just fine. It performs as advertised. No ...

There is one welding supply by me that will sell it by the individual rod. About $5 I think. Try calling your LWS's and ask if they will do this. Many know that a lot of folks only need a single piece for an occasional repair

Re: Hello, which welding kinds l want ??
If it's lots of short welds, I would suggest a MIG welder with spot and stitch functions. You generally don't run long continuous welds on thin metal as it causes a lot of warping. If the pieces have long continuous overlap, then a good spot welder would be very useful. I don't think TIG will be ver...
