Time to break out the 1/4" 7018 electrode. Single pass weave is that wide

Both Lincoln and Miller now have online (Android) apps for calculating that automatically for all the processes. ESAB app used to only be MIG. Not sure if anything had changed.

Re: Evolution Rage 2

I love mine. The only problem is cutter 2" or bigger alum.It cuts it fine the first few cuts, but then the alum starts to ball up in the teeth of the blade. It is quicky removed with some needle nose pliars.I have tried waxing the teeth, but it still does it.Great on steel though. Fly :D try usi...

Re: Lotos plazma cutter?

Lotos is going out of business. So don't expect any support/repairs. You would do better with a harbor freight one and their 2 year optional exchange warranty.

Are you asking for out of position welding of aluminum with the Spoolgun or general when using MIG out of position.

The brand of razor blade makes a difference. HF and China made blades don't work as well as s better quality ones.

Re: Aluminum mig, how to stop or help cratering!

Some MIG welders have a crater fill option so that when the trigger is released, the weld current 'ramps' down and continues to feed wire at a reduced rate to fill the crater as it forms. On mine (an EWM Phoenix 355 Concept pulse), the Slope Duration, Wire Speed, Arc Length correction and End Time ...

Re: I'm building a 8'x12' steel bed for a 06 Ford F-550....

Chassis cabs are odd creatures when it comes to beds. Frame rails and rear axle is narrower than normal pickups. Makes it harder to just pick one up. Luckily got one for mine for $400. A little beat here and there, but it does it's job. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk Dodge is really screwy. ...

Re: I'm building a 8'x12' steel bed for a 06 Ford F-550....

Looks great John!!! I am helping my brother in law right now. He bought a brand new GMC Sierra 3500, regular cab short wheel base, cab and chassis that he is going to use for a pipeline rig. We were planning on building a steel bed but since he has to run across scales and it is already going to ha...

Re: Welding Lens

So I recently purchased a Wens Lens Ultra Cool Blue lens in a shade 10. Before I used a shade 11 gold lens. I really like the color of the Ultra Cool Blue (easier on the eyes), but it's a tad bright for my eyes. A fellow welder has the same lens in a shade 11, but, for some reason, it doesn't look ...

My ex wanted to know why I was driving all over to look at used beds for the Ram 3500 dually I just bought. Wanted to know why I didn't just make one. Told her I can't buy the steel for what I can get a used bed for. I have to show her this thread sometime. Took a couple hrs to cut and remove the ol...

The only time I make a real recommendation on a hood is to the fellow 10% of the population that like me, is also color blind. Yes we still see colors but differently and some colors look the same or don't stand out. There are plenty of apps on android store to simulate various colorblindness. In th...

Also of you were running one after the other on that small plate, then you preheated the metal and would need to reduce the output to compensate.

Re: Chop Saw

Invest in good cold cut saw, you will wonder how you ever lived without one. I use an Evolution 355 which has a cast aluminum base. No flexing of the base and nice straight cuts.
