Re: The most difficult material to weld

Any idea if Unobtainum can be welded? Of course you have to go to Pandora to get it.
What about Adamantium? Here is some more details... https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questio ... -vibranium

It really comes down to time. TIG is generally a much slower process and requires a lot more practice IMHO.

Re: Advice on Lincoln HD welder

Basically useless. Flux core welding sucks for sheet metal and with 80 amps, all you can weld with it is sheet metal. Reason there are so many used for so cheap. People buy then and quickly realize they need a bigger and better welder. But there is a sucker born every minute.

I've used both, much prefer the 250dx, I like analog and also seems to be a bit more reliable. I can see all the settings with just a quick glance at the panel.

New AHP 3 in 1 250 amp TIG MIG Stick machine

Don't have a whole bunch of info yet, but some sneak peek pics of the new machine that is replacing the prior version. This one also didn't require freight shipping. Will have DC pulse on TIG, HF start, unsure the pps range. Includes all torches and a pedal, spool gun will be available also. Price i...

Richard, I was signed up (via member southpaw) to "Beta-test" that i-torch flex-loc clone, but I never received it. Damn shame, as I'd have given it a real workout. Steve S I gave all the info for them to send out demos. Just checked, 1-2 more months. Some improved machining and cable cha...

I have ran both of them. Much prefer the 250ex with the extra 50 amps and knobs which I can glance at and see all my settings instantly.

I have the netwelding one and it's very accurate. You will notice the graduations get closer together as you move up the scale. The cheap ones are evenly spaced all the way up, the really cheap ones are in LPM not CFH

Re: Metal Cutting Disc for Grinder

I have one on my Makita LXT cordless grinder. Slower than abrasive disk, but no changing of disc needed. Worked good on aluminum tubing and angle. I don't think i would run one on my corded grinder though. They do vibrate more then cut off wheels.

Re: Wire feeder on ac/dc tig for ac mig?

I believe it's still constant voltage AC. Not constant current AC as used with TIG, which is not going to work well with any MIG process. Voltage sensing feeders are no where as near as good on thin metal as CV power sourced feeders

Re: Gun "Kick Back"

Slow run in is a feature that was designed to address that issue. It takes an extra fraction of a second to get the metal and filler up to working temps. So you sometimes stub the wire on initial start. Lower current the more pronounced the effect is Composed with Swype on mobile. not responsible fo...

I assume it's arrived by now? I'm considering the same machine, primarily due to its pulse mig functionality for doing aluminium. Here is the machine, http://www.esabna.com/us/en/products/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.product&productCode=V430013 I would say it will sell for $250 to $500 on the used market. ESAB has very poor resale value compared to Lincoln and Miller. I'd pay $250 for it. Composed with Swype on mobile. not re...

I just bit the bullet and bought a new Jackson True Sight II wh70. I should get it next week! Look forward to a review. Esp if you have normal color vision. I have Jackson Truesight II. Love it, mainly due to being colorblind, the blue lens really helps me see the puddle better, the large lens is nice for grinding.
