Re: This is how it's done?

Satincraft 6013s are ok for flat work, done a few "non critical" handrails at work(lead refinery), with a wide bevel with little to no land they lay in nice and flat. No need for a grind smooth after. People say they dont make a strong weld but these get belted with 1T crust butts constant...

Re: building a welding station in a wood shed ?

I wouldn't be to worried about TIG welding so much but grinding may well be a problem!
You could line a area out with cement or metal sheeting to make it safer or make up a car sized bay from it... does the building have enough height for a mezzanine floor?

Have you tried pulsing just using the pedal, I repaired some cheap Chinese under tray boxes for my ute(about 1.2mm thick chequer plate)like LtBadd said jam the filler in and bring the arc up on it and give the pedal a stab to melt it in, back off and move about a mm or two(keeping on the downhill of...

If its a waxy/tar coating use mineral turps and automotive degreaser mixed together, then clean off with soapy water... do your welding then automotive prepwash and primer ASAP

It sounds like the gear they use on cast iron machinery tables for shipping

Re: Aussies - superflex type cables?

I ordered my CK20 set up from Arczone... come in over $700 landed
But that included, 25' of superflex and a micro switch, dinse connector and adapters for my QR connections plus a leather cover to match.

Way easier to use than my old wp18 torch set up
