Re: Tig welder for a newbie
I bought this on eBay for $760(USD) and haven't had any troubles:
http://www.stahlwerk-schweissgeraete.de ... lasma.html

My advice (from hard learned experience): Research them all. Pay attention to reviews and manufacturer's forums. Owners/operators manuals will tell you a lot abo...

Re: Tig welder for a newbie
It has a mosfet inverter and from what I've read mosfets don't hold up to hf start and pulse. I am in no way an expert just a beginner looking for a welder like you. I really like the everlast 200 dc pulse and the ahp alphatig ac/dc. Both are just over $700.

Re: Hello
Thanks x, do you have the tig setup on it then? How does it do as a mig? I looked at that welder and almost bought it at the local store. Is hf start that big of a deal where I should get it if it's just a dc tig?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Hello
Nice, I'm building me a hybrid jd2 bender now, the die should be here any day. Only problem I'm having is figuring out how to build a hydraulic power unit, I'm not sure where the pump mounts on it. It's the kind that has the reservoir mounted on motor, like the ones used for car lifts.

Hello
