since the orient express film the coaches have appeared and featured quite a lot in the film hugo not sure how big it was elsewhere but big film here ive not even seen it lol
the loco frame is a long term resto

bit more rust welding

well heres a few more pics of stuff i get to do at work the carriage roof repair is only sheet metal and dates from 1936 ish the other pics are a locomotive frame witch is about 100 years old the frame is full of hairline cracks some all the way through 2" plate to say the welding of old stuff ...

i like most of the welding i do but there are times that we have to weld some real rusty pourus junk ,some of the cast stuff i do really drives me crazy somtimes very thin and useally at least 40 + years old ,overhead rust welding, arc is always fun .........

the coaches were in the recent poirot film murder on the orient express, 4 coachs were used 2 of the coaches had a full repanal ,window frames etc with some structual work before the film nothing was props all real deal took about year and a bit, apart from shots inside the coach witch were done in ...

been doing this for years personally hate polished ali i use a red scotch pad on a da for a semi sheen for brushed look i just hand draw a scotch pad up and down one direction :D

the coach went away for a film job ,the haulage company took the coach under a bridge ,end of the original vents and 6 roof panels so the vents were copied from the existing vents

heres a pic of a vent ive been making had to make 6, there for 1936 wagon lit rail coaches same as the orient express train im really impressed with how they came out seemings as i only had mig with 1mm wire witch was interesting tig would have been ideal but wasnt available some times you just have...
