Re: Vertical 7018 1/8

I agree with this guy ^^^^^^
Lower amperage & hold them sides a little longer to get rid of that undercut. I usually hold the sides a bout a full 1 second & just pass through the center on my way to the opposite side.

Re: Do you weave your torch?

Totally depends on the situation & size / appearance of bead you are looking for. Usually for the lay wire technique, I find myself weaving the torch side to side or even walking the cup. For dipping, I generally hold steady on smaller beads, or pull back / up while trying to keep a tight arc if...

Re: Miller Syncrowave 210

I used to build enormous SS tanks for the pharmaceutical & dairy industries. We used to use the amptrols that Velcro'd right to the torch because we were constantly moving around & inside the tanks. If you don't like using the foot pedal while standing, or you have large parts that are easie...

Re: Miller Syncrowave 210 review

Just re-read gambles post & it got me thinking. If I wanted to (for example) buy & install the pulse upgrade, so I can weld at 150 pps (I believe that's what it's rated for), do I install the card & the machine stores the settings, or do I need to keep that card in the machine to use it,...

Re: Miller Syncrowave 210 review

It's too late for that.....I already ordered the 210. For me, it makes sense as long as it welds nice. I already have a Sync 250 in the shop, but 90% of my work is in the field. The fact that this welder will be in my job trailer full time is another deciding factor for me. I have some serious OCD w...

Miller Syncrowave 210 review

There's not much info out there yet on this fairly new machine & I think it deserves a real review from a "real" welder. There are a couple reviews on YouTube, but it's pretty apparent the guy doing the review is a hobbyist & does not weld for a living. Is it an inverter machine in...

Re: Miller Syncrowave 210

I have a 250 in the shop as well, but this 210 is a completely different setup. Inverter based technology, whatever that means? I've had guys tell me that it is a true inverter, within the heavy 252 case & I've also had guys say that there's no way it could be an inverter due to how heavy it is?...

Miller Syncrowave 210

Just ordered a 210 & was wondering if anyone had anything good or bad to say about it? I did as much research on it as I could, but being fairly new, there's not much out there yet. I do have a larger tig for the shop, but this machine will be setup in my job trailer as I do mostly commercial co...
