Re: pipe test
the root goes in easy for me. 3/32 gap, 1/8 wire and I just go back and forth over the wire never letting the tungsten get outside the gap. ive always ran my root with a loose gap where the wire would fall through, seen someone post about the 3/32 gap and 1/8 wire. I thought it sounded crazy! but it...

Re: pipe test
sorry the pictures are all out of order and sideways. root went in good, tacks were kind of heavy but good enough. hot pass and fill did ok and the cap needs to be tightened up. all these pictures were from the left side, that's my hard side. so the other side of the pipe not pictured looks a tad bi...

Re: Beginner bead pics
I've never welded with those rods, guess there not uses in construction much. I don't even know where to start! by the looks of the welds it seems like you tried something different on each pass. if I were you id look at jodys videos, he has a bunch of ac stuff. and focus on one rod at a time. get g...

Re: Pipeline - Favorite gear??

There are a bunch of machines that I personaly have used and like. SA200 pipepro new big blue 300 300d pipeliner 200d classic 1,2, or 3 vantage is ok I have ...

If you don't care about the price try to get some of the orange super flex leads. They cost a little bit more but there nice to work with!

Re: pipe test
Thanks for the info. Like I said my root is great, nice on the inside and nice color on the outside. Really just looking for info as why my other passes look so dull. And for the torch I like the 17 with the super flex cable, its light weight and fits me good. It does get hot but the only time I fee...
