Re: Difference between the two.
HAH Well, as I said, I am teaching myself all of this stuff.
I thought, to mig or tig weld, with a Bobcat, I needed additional stuff. I may be a moron, but I know there is not a wire feeder with my Bobcat. haha
hmmm
Now I'M confused. haha
Time to Google.

Re: Difference between the two.
So, I was looking at the suitcase things. They would save me space. The things are more than the Millermatic though. haha
Can I weld the same thickness metal, with a suitcase, as I can with the Millermatic? I see they have like six of them.

Re: Difference between the two.
Yes, haha the Bobcat can do mig and tig. But, I need expensive stuff to do either. So I believe.
I use the Bobcat for stick and as a generator.
The APH tig, I use for tig.
Someone once told me, it would be better to get different machines. Thus, putting less stress on the Bobcat.

Ok, I got myself a Bobcat 250. I got myself an AHP tig welder. NOW, I am getting a mig welder. I will do so in June. I have taught myself to weld. I am surprised at the fact that I could. haha I had a brain injury in 03. It feels good to know my mind still works. ANYWAY, I see the difference...

That is my problem with store and their sites. They always tell me that same thing.
Oh well, I will just order a Millermatic 252 in June.

My mom said she would go with me. haha Nothing like being 33 and having your mom at a tool show.
Seems going alone would be boring though. Nobody to talk with, about all the stuff you've seen.

I got an email from Welding tips and tricks. Talking about a show. I saw there is another next year. Here are my questions. Now, I am 32. haha But, I've never really went anyplace myself. I have a Bobcat 250 and an AHP Alpha Tig. I have been wanting a mig welder. Yes, I could get stuff to do that on my Bobcat. But, I would rather use a different machine. I am teaching myself to weld. I have gotten stick and tig down. I was shocked that I could teach myself to do those types. haha ANY...

Also, as for buying the stuff to put on instead of the things that come with it, haha, I may have a hard time with that. I am just learning about all of this stuff. You should make a youtube video.

Re: Hammer, air compressor and anything else my mind is baki
I found nothing when I looked up the stuff you said. haha Well, I DID see a hammer that was expensive as hell.
If the electric one, from jet, will have less noise, than I would get that one. I wish I know someone who had one of these things. I would hover to their location and listen.

Re: Hammer, air compressor and anything else my mind is baki
Haha. Well, my Bobcat is loud also.
I have had visions of stuff. Designs I mean. Then I found out about the hammer.
I think the air one would work better. I can find nothing out on the electric one.

I was looking at and actually ordered this. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200659556_200659556 I got an email today, that it has been shipped. That is cool. But, I will have to get an air compressor and use my Bobcat 250 to power it. I will have to put it in a different shed. So, I w...

Lower those amps.
Ok, I just watched a cool video on here. Welding razor blades. I have an AHP Alpha 200 tig welder. Are there tig welders that are just for lower amps? If so, my ass will have to save for one. That being said, I would rather not spend $1000 on one.

Re: playing with box cutter blades #razorbladechallenge
Very cool. I am teaching myself to weld. I have a Bobcat 250 and an AHP Alpha 200 tig. Can that thing go as low as the welder you are using? If not, after AHP gets their mig welder bag in and I buy it, I will have an excuse to buy another toy.

Hammer, air compressor and anything else my mind is baking.
I ordered a northern tool planishing hammer. It was like $129. I've no clue how to use it. haha But, it seems like an interesting thing to learn HOW to use. I see Harbor Freight has one cheaper. Anyone have any idea on how the two compare? The one I ordered is back ordered and will ship in like 18 d...

Re: Hello
Indeed. But things have been weird. I can not make a puddle. As I think I said, while trying, it almost cut through the aluminum. Maybe a spot welder would work. Haha. I know there is a way to do it. It's just that I cannot figure out, how to get the two together. Do I start the puddle on the bottom...

Hello
Ok, I finished welding my guy together. Now, I am trying to weld details on. Mouth, two eyes and I have hair. Any advice, on welding 1/8 aluminum, on top of 1/8 aluminum? I started having problems again today. No puddle would form. I actually just got the metal hot. Pushed in on the back and out in ...

Re: Something happened.
I just figured out, exactly what happened. My mom was reading about this tonight. She was telling me things. That, plus the stuff I have read in here were swirling through my mind. Then it hit me. So, first, that white color was in there. Then I saw the thing turned all the way up. I must have thoug...

Re: Something happened.
I did find something though. Somehow, the dial on my flowmeter, was turned all the way up! That would explain a bunch of stuff. haha No clue how in the heck it happened. It is odd though. It worked at first. Then, I would see a puddle, but it would have black stuff in it. I mean, I grinded the metal...

Re: Something happened.
Well, it is not making the white stuff anymore. But, for some reason, the tung. keeps getting really black. It welded fine for a few welds. Then, things went to hell. haha I just can not figure out, what happened. I am going to say screw it for a couple of days. Also, the torch gets so freaking hot,...
