HTP is good stuff. I have 2 of their machines and one of their mig guns on an older Lincoln, no complaints.

Re: Grounding your welding table?
What we refer to as the ground when welding is more accurately a return path. Neither lead on your welding machine has any path to the supply ground. In single phase a/c wiring there are one or two hot wires, a neutral, and a ground. Neutral and ground share a single common connection at the main se...

The Esab 161 and the HTP 221 are two machines that run 6010 very well without special ports.

Re: Mig bead help
The "grey film that chips off in pieces" sounds like you are using flux core wire. What wire is in the machine and are you using gas, if so, what gas?

Re: Help picking out a welder
All are capable of running without gas using flux core wire. The one that says no gas required is ONLY capable of running flux core. Wire welding works best on direct current, the 90 amp HF machine is alternating current output. 90 amps is not enough power for wire welding. My advice is to buy a use...

Re: cold cut saw blade in wood chop saw
Wood saw plus a metal blade is about as much as a dry saw. If you have a Home Depot card, order the Evolution 380 through their website and take 6 months to pay it off with no interest.

Re: cold cut saw blade in wood chop saw
The cut parts on a dry saw don't get hot but the chips do. The wood saw is likely not built to deal with the very hot stream of metal chips. Wood saws also typically lack clamping mechanisms for the stock.

Check out systematics website and see if they have a copy of the door chart. 12 taps is better than most 'name brand ' welding machines offer.

Re: MIG machine question
A lot of Snap On welders are made by Systematics. I had mine for 25 years before l got my HTP MIG 2400. Never any trouble. Good machine just overpriced on the Snap On truck. I upgraded for more power. Are you sure it's not an FM 140?
