The HTP 221 usually goes on sale for father's day and black friday. It's also a very capable stick welder.

Re: Everlast welders or never last welders
The diversion 180 has almost no adjustments, is a little under powered and I beleive it's being phased out. I owned 2 everlast p.o.s.'s and will never again. I sound like a broken record on this topic but HTP's customer service is fantastic. Their Invertig 221 is an awesome machine.

Leave it, it slows oxidation. With regular use your table won't get rusty.

Re: Can you tig weld with 75/25 mig weld gas mix
And on the flip side, you can't use pure argon for mig welding either. You need two bottles. Unless you're doing stainless or aluminum, but you are right. Two bottles are necessary. Aluminum MIG 100% Argon Stainless MIG 75/25, TriMix, or C100. No 100% Argon. Ralax folks. If the op was asking this p...

There's a video series on the conversion on YouTube. They use surprisingly small rectifiers. Parts to do this are easy to source.

Re: If your newest favorite welder let you down.........
I would like to have the HTP Invertig221. However, I priced the PT225 when I bought the Esab and I could get it just under $2K with torch and pedal. The HTP is much more. As for the PT225 being a dinosaur, maybe that is what I need. I looked at the synchro. I need to test drive one. Other than bein...

Re: If your newest favorite welder let you down.........
The PT225 is a dinosaur. For the same money you can get an HTP221, a far superior machine. But neither will support a wire feeder.

Re: Welding used gas tank
A few users ago I modified a motorcycle fuel tank. I drained the tank and removed the fuel pump. I let it air dry then took my hand-held leaf blower and set the tank on my lawn with the output of the blower running through the tank. I burned a whole tank of fuel on the blower. When I was done there ...

I would buy am HTP221 before I bought a Precision Rig 225. The PT225 is big, heavy, and transformer based. The HTP is smaller, lighter, a fantastic rig welder and an amazing stick welder. HTP has a cult-like following. Search YouTube for htp221.

Re: best budget AC/DC tig machine
Sedanman, I guess you pay an extra $400 for the CK wrapping? Good to know! Brad I guess you could always buy an Everlast, I saw the 250 EX recently on the market for around $1395. Weld 1/4 inch no issues. The bigger case allows for slightly better cooling thus a duty cycle improvement. The CK versi...

typ 122, Don't forget the CK Worldwide MT-200 ac/dc Tig, it is pricier at $2155 but is supposed to be an excellent machine. Brad Wow that's quite a bit more then the Lincoln, it better shine for that cost. Have never seen any reviews for that unit, but then I haven't went looking. Right now you can...

So you think the Estwing is worth having? I can get one just down the road ex-stock.
That's one version of the Atlas. Unless you lose an Estwing, it's a lifetime investment.

The HTP 221 will do ac lift arc rig with no high frequency. You can weld aluminum. Usually it's the high frequency and not the alternating current that upsets pacemakers.
