Must haves for me in a shop are a ceiling paddle fan to help heating in the winter and summer cooling. A ventilation fan with an inlet at the opposite end and if it gets hot and humid a dehumidifier to make it more comfortable and control the rust on projects and tools. Just fasten a furnace filter,( tape, bungee cord,) on the inlet side. If you do much grinding, spray painting etc a filtered air cleaner really helps. Something as simple as a furnace filter taped to the inlet side of a box fan will help. As for layout I have everything that doesn't have to be fixed on wheels to be flexible as possible.

+1 on the ceiling fan. Unless you have in floor heat I’ve notice it’s quite noticeably warmer on the ceiling than on the floor.

Yeah foil board insulation will be going in once all the plumbing /electrical is done. As much for the sound deadening properties as for the thermal properties.

This is the stuf, varying thicknesses, we used it on the external walls of our house before bricking, wool bats inside, needed this to pass the energy ratings.......

i don't think that would be legal here these days. foil products are banned now due to people getting electrocuted. plus the foil does so little insulation in the long run (as soon as its dusty its not effective).
there is insulation board, tho i havn't seen them used as yet. tho i'm not around construction sites like used to be.

for the shed i did use some polystyrene sheets that slide in the horizontal runners on the wall.

Well, electrical and plumbing all done, just need to finish off plaster for the toilet. Haven’t started benches yet, thought I’d have a maintenance day on the machines.......hf has been a bit lack lustre on the tig, the points were super tight, probably around .010-.015” so reset and a good clean and dust. My mig has been out of action for a while now, looks like the solenoid relay on the pcb, so removed that and get that repaired this week. Started the “modular” pedestal..... only had a stick welder on the plasma cutter to use......it has been a while!!!!!!!!

Finished the first tool mount, seems to look like it’ll work well!! Still haven’t got round to benches but......busy with work.....

One thing I found very handy for set screw bolts as in your stand is to use "flair nuts" with the built in washer. Lots of meat to weld even down to 1/4 in. Less chance of blowing thru to the threads in the smaller sizes.

Good call on the flange nuts, ill try that next time!
