For all those with soft computer hands like me.. what general fab gloves do you use?
I cut my hand yesterday on the way to pick something up that was falling off a table, one of those reaction quick attempts at a save. Should have just let it fall hah! A piece of sheet scrap had a small bur and just like that...
I generally debur everything and work barehanded, but it got me thinking if I should wear gloves more when not using spinning machinery. I'm not a pro so my hands will likely remain soft.

Due to some dermatitis issues in the past from fuels / oils & seeing a mates hands that ignored similar till it was almost too late I tend to wear light gloves in the shop - never used to - would have been the first to take the smeg seeing others wear them but it makes sense - certainly reduces damage even for those with hard / leathery hands ! not much point saying what brands I use as across the pond we don't get the same but it's the type that are thin cloth dipped in latex / foam - tried others like nitrile but they are too slippery - the PU foam sort wear a bit quicker but dexterity / grip is WAY better.
The thin cut leather gloves, gardening type. They don’t last long under heavy use but there great for general wear and tear. Even give a bit of protection when welding.

I use simple leather work gloves bought at the Home Center. I still have all my bits and bobs because when working around metal, I'll sacrifice a pair of $8 gloves over a finger/fingernail/digit any day. I am not afraid of a cut or bang, but those injuries just slow you down and who has time to heal??? Got sh!t to do!
