General welding questions that dont fit in TIG, MIG, Stick, or Certification etc.

So I'm doing a couple of ornamental end tables for a customer that partly consist of a cross shape that will be inlaid into the wood top (not inlaid by me, I'm just doing the metal). The cross will be 1" wide, 1/4" thick 304SS flat bar, about 1.5ft long on each end, and planning to butt weld two perpendicular pieces to one single piece in order to make the cross. The finished cross will be given a near polish.

So my question is this: Since this is ornamental, and not structural in any way, does anybody have a tip on a filler for 304 that is LEAST likely to show the weld nugget when ground and polished??

I have had no issue with 316 or 308. Just insure the weld is flush to slightly proud so the blending is undetectable.

I’ve had good luck with 312. While polishing stuff for food grade work.
I have more questions than answers
