Hi everyone, Fat Bob here. When I joined the site a few months ago the first thing I noticed was the helpfulness of the members here. The second was how disorganized some of the categories were. After reading the “Forum News” I understood, several new sub-forums had recently been added but nobody had time to move old posts where they belonged. That’s where I came in; being semi-retired, and a bit of a computer geek, I volunteered to help the Admins and Mods out with this task.
To date only General Shop Talk has been cleaned up. 70 topics have been moved (mostly older posts) where they now belong. Your post count should not have changed, everything posted in your Topic is still here, it just lives in another part of the forum now.
“So, what’s all this mean to me”? You know you posted a Tig question in General Shop Talk. I’m using User ID “OntheSide” in my explanation here, (not picking on you just thought the members here deserve to know what they might notice). See 4th post down in the screen shot below, Tig welding Stainless Steel.
What's that funny looking Icon next to the post?
The little blue arrow pointing up and to the left means the topic has been moved. (hover your mouse over it in the forums and it tells you). This is a "Shadow Topic" so could find it, a link if you will, that by clicking it will take you to your post and open it unchanged, just in a new location.
Not a big deal really just thought you might like to know what it was all about. If you care to comment or notice any problems please let me know here or drop me a PM. Your feedback is always welcome.
Fat Bob

Forum clean up is complete...for now.
All in all it wasn't as bad as it first appeared. The Subject line on many posts was deceiving so every post had to be read.
If you have any problems finding something I moved PM me and I'll help you find it.

The picture is entirely appropriate...
I'd be as crazy as a cross-eyed cat myself, if I'd sorted through every post on here!
It would test the limits of my medication...
