What are some good ways to market a welding business besides just handing out business cards?

That depends a lot on your intended market.

If you intend to do repairs from a rig truck, your best bet may be to make friends at all the local farm supply stores, semi-trailer (shipping) yards, marinas, and the like in your area. If you want a small manufacturing shop building custom suspension brackets for Jeep suspensions, you'll want to press the flesh at expos and truck rallies.

You'll need to settle on a target market or three, before you look at the best way to sell yourself.

Wldnfrk.

Ya might leave on and off, some cards at all the welding supply shops too.
Generate a long list of potential clients and send them a flyer and stop by to talk with them.
Socializing, that is face-to-face contact is appreciated.
Hire some kid to put together a website for you too.
