I just got a 220e pipe saw and I have to day so far with limited usage I am very impressed. Cuts straight and true enough for my sanitary pipe 316L 1.50" x .065" wall and it very easy to use.
Started looking at this type of saw after a large industrial contractor told me to look at a Scorp by GF. However they are discontinued...found this Exact Tools saw which is the same style.

Okay, thanks...
Now I have a new item for the wish list...
Seriously, that looks to be a great tool.
I'll never sell my employer on it; I'm still working on getting a port-a-band.

Wow really... And I was complaining about only having a porta band...lol Ive used a sawzall and some saw guides plenty of times but that takes time to setup...and prep is key with my food grade stuff. I really like the range of this saw I'll be able to use it for nearly any pipe I have to deal with.
We all need to start a Send Steve a Portaband fund.

I get paid the same money to do it the hard way... That's the argument I've been using. I'm (likely) the top paid man in the shop, and I'd be more productive with a good quality saw, and with the in-position stuff I'm often stuck with, a portaband is the best option.
I'm sure I'll sell them on it eventually.

I was serious. You know that is not a bash at you in any way. If others will contribute, I will send one your way. Maybe I can sneak one in a purchase order or work on getting a free one.
Like the saying goes, it's the thought that counts.

Jonathan, I certainly never saw it as a "bash". Franky, I'm flattered.
Damn near speechless, if that were possible for me.
I'll get them convinced of the value of efficiency over cheap tools and consumables, eventually, maybe.

Maybe bash was not the correct wording there. Anyway you know what I mean.

I do know what you mean, and believe me, it's appreciated. This forum is the best "extended family" on the internet, bar none. If I forget that, ten minutes administering the couple of facebook groups I'm partly responsible for reminds me in a hurry.Superiorwelding wrote:Maybe bash was not the correct wording there.
