I'm looking for a bit of history .I have an old 'Wilson Welder and Metals Co , NY NY . Arc welding transformer, 60cycle 220v, 31 amp. Model MCT 102-22

Can anyone tell me about when it was made ?.Must have been a major company and their catalogs of 1916 and 1923 are available online .Latest reference I've found is late 1940s. Located in Brooklyn , Bush Terminal ,my old town ! Mine must be 60 years old or more .Still works ! What happened to the company ?

All I've found is that the company was a subsidiary of Airco in 1938.

Did you try calling the Chamber of Commerce in Brooklyn? They might have some information on the company. A local library's business section has also helped me out before trying to find out about extinct machinery companies.
