Hello to all! I have seen them around, but I don't know who makes them!
What I need is an auto bender for the weld test coupons (strips), that I cut out of test plates. I have seen and used set ups where you put the prepared coupon into the bender, close the cage door, flip the switch and in a few seconds the piece is completely bent!
I do have a manual bender, but the amount of testing we are doing is growing by leaps and bounds. I need to have a better way to complete the testing process.
Anyone have any preferences with this piece of equipment? Pro and con comments?
Thank you!
Gary

Gary, if I remember right (it's possible), Jody had a video quite a while back in which he made a bending die for use in a hydraulic press. Can't remember if that was the main focus of the video or just incidental. You sound like you may be looking for something more automated than that.

Otherwise like stated above some use dies or.make dies and make there own tester and stand.

I've been looking on eBay for a good used Hossfeld bender and noticed a few of the the TE ones listed http://www.trieng.com/services/destruct ... equipment/
They have one like that at our locals training center it works really nice. And quick to use.
