I need some help. Ive been kind of in the search for a good deal on a aluminum spool gun to run off of my bobcat and I stumbled across one for sale on Facebook. Its located about 3 hours from my house and the person doesn't know much about it. From what I see in the picture the brand is profax. The picture of the spool gun isn't the actual gun but the same model. I can pull up the info on the actual gun but no info on the black or green/white box. Is this setup everything I need? Is the green/white box a high freq unit? I don't know. Someone help me please.

I don't own one of these but did some research on them a while back. I'm pretty sure that box is an interface that supplies power to the spool gun and provides an interface to the welder you use it with. If I recall correctly there are a couple of versions of the interface box, which one you use is dictated by the welder you are using it with. There was some pretty detailed info on the Profax website, but you had to dig through the manuals on the site to find it. The manual for the AEC 200 is a good starting point, find it here:

Look at the control box specs here under AEC200-1, AEC200-2, AEC200-3, etc...

You may need to know more specifics of the one that you are looking to buy to know if it will easily work with your Bobcat.
