I am curious what will drive it, a zip tie on an cordless doesn't cut it!

My 18 volt Makita 1/2 drill has a LOT of torque; if not, I have a small 25 to 1 gearbox that will.

If the Cert-a-Flat positioner doesn't work out I would like to build one like this:

My point was on the zip tie, not exactly a method of fine tuning the RPM

Sorry Richard I didn't understand, He said he was going to fix the zip tie when the model comes out.

An adjustable band clamp works though
Screw-driven for fine adjustments

"about 1/3 of the price of a comparable part"
Wonder what it'll actually be. I've seen comparable positioners from $500 to $3k.g

I wouldn't hold your breathe on that
Not too difficult to make, but if you have enough work they are more then worth the investment,
Arc Zone has
a new one that looks good for $1200

There's nothing to it. No ball bearings, just bushings, 2 gears and 3/16" steel. Do forget it's a kit. Their 4ft square, DIY tables sell for around 500 bucks so how can it be that expensive?

Well, we'll find out. Will it include a motor or will the end user provide that, interested to know

I think they're just planning on it being driven by a drill you already own. Though super easy to rig up a dedicated motor to it.

Let us know how it is when you get it. Even at $290 that's a steal if it's good.
