Hello all, purchased some used horseshoes on ebay for a welding project. didn't read all the description. the shoes came with what looked like someone was practicing welding on them. when I read the description further, it has Borium on it which is a tungsten type of metal that they braze on it using an oxyacetylene torch to prevent the horse from slipping in the snow. I tried to grind it off and it's barely working. any suggestions? Thanks

Heat them up hot enough to soften the brazing metal that was used to make the attachment. While it’s still hot, just brush it off with a wire brush.
I have more questions than answers
