Richard,
Don't be trying to call Oscar a Black Hole. He is more like a Pulsar, Sometimes he spits out good things to know.

When I was at Richard's place a year ago, he had a nice Dynasty 210. I don't know if he has upgraded to a HTP yet or not.

The 210 does have more features than the 221 like the waveforms and such that the 221 doesn't have. But the 221 comes standard with Independent Amplitude adjustability.

Wish I had the independent adj. but I really don't do much al. If Miller only wants to include this feature on the 400 and 800, then ok, but the upgrade shouldn't cost ~$500. I haven't checked recently but can't imagine the price would come down.

I just checked, Bakers showed the upgrade card for $607. It appears that the main thing you get for the price is the Independent AC currents. Ouch!

Was a bit suprised that Richard didn't squawk about me calling his possibillity of moving to a HTP an upgrade. Either he missed it, or he is being a really good sport about it. Truth is, his Dynasty 210 is a very nice machine. I just had a hard time getting my foot to adapt to the different feel of his pedal. Not bad, just different.
Would probably have been as difficult, if I had learned on his, then moved to mine.

I did consider the 221 but wanted a local repair option should I need it, not married to blue, and there are a number of very good machines to consider, still the nut under the hood is the weakest / strongest link

There's one that has my name on it. Sadly it's still in Illinois, lol. Hopefully soon. The bad part is that I don't know if it will fit in my Signature lines, lol.

You could make room by sending me your 221 DV.

Better yet, send it to Richard. He has the talent to take advantage of the Independent AC currents. I'm still pretty much of a kludge.

By the way, I take my hat off to you, for the useful info you posted on the aluminum tacking thread.

You need to go see your doctor, you have this rare condition that makes you dream while you're awake as you're typing on a keyboard.

Oh, I just do what I can. I end up experimenting/researching with welding more than actual welding projects. I'll be updating the metal-core MIG thread soon with more info as well.

Nothing rare about my 'condition '. It did not stop me from flying for almost 30 years.
You complained about not having enough room in your Signature section. I was just trying to help you out.

Same here......just been messing back.
I do think that Richard liked the idea. He offered to pay 1/2 the shipping charges.
