Welding stand

Some may remember my recent post , asking about welders to practice pipe welding on . Well I ended up in the end pulling the trigger on a Everlast powerarc 300 . It should be in next week some time . I talked with someone I met and they had nothing but great things to say about it . And told me they actually had put 100s of hours on it and performed tons of code work with it . And it was more then capable of practicing downhill and uphill pipe welding . And that he hasent used many machines that burned 6010s and 7018s much better in the inverter category than it .

Regaurdless I'm at the point where I want to build a stationary positioner stand for welding coupons up and practicing. I was just posting to see if anyone else had built something similar and had any good ideas . If anyone has any pictures or good idea please shoot them my way . Thanks a ton !

Jody used the modular test stand from triangle engineering several times.

Not cheap, but it's an option...

Bye, Arno.

Thanks for the response , yeah checked that out and remeber seeing and hearing Jodi talk about it in his videos . But that is way to far out of the price range but I suppose looking at it I may be able to use some of the designs and build my own .

My real plan I suppose is to go to some local fab shops, and scrap yard and try to buy some cheap materials. And just make a design out of what I have . I suppose I'll make a project threat out of it .

Thank you
