Welding Tips and Tricks

So hitachi is now Metabo hpt. Anybody have some of these or used them. I’ve been looking them as a cheaper alternative to the red and yellow standard. They offer brushless motors and made in Germany.

I’m looking at the sawzall, drill, hex impact, and circular saw. Maybe a grinder.

I have a Metabo 10” dual bevel sliding miter saw and it is a quality tool. I got it discounted around Christmas but would have no problem paying full price for it. I also have a folding hitachi table saw which is what made me look for this miter saw. No need to pay more for red or yellow in my opinion!

I've read some mixed reviews on the cold cutting chop saws. The prices are low compared to the Evolution saws, so they look attractive.

I saw a lot of people saying the stamped bases are really flimsy.

I'm gonna hold out for an Evolution or Fein.

That said, Hitachi tools are pretty good, IMO. I think it all depends on the tool you get and what you use it for. Just be careful with the metal cutting saws, especially the dry chop saws that use carbide tipped blades, those don't seem so stellar.

I have a 18v Hitachi cordless drill, that thing will rip your hand off your wrist if your not careful. Too bad they don't make them anymore.
