Went to weld a fuel tank aluminum. Could not get the welder to ground. Even on the ground clamp. Was getting feedback in my hearing aids. Shut them off and put them in my toolbox. My hearing AIDS have Wi-Fi in them. After shutting them off, welder work just fine. CK welder MT 200. Has anybody ever had this happened to them? Would not ground on DC also.

highly unlikely that wifi signals are interfering with the welder.

Sure a strange coincidence. I would only get a high frequency arc. After hearing feedback in my hearing AIDS I shut them off and the welder worked like it should. Sure glad it did not hurt my hearing AIDS. $5200 Investment. The guy I was welding for has a pacemaker. I made him stay away from me while I was welding. Gave him a cold beer, he was content.

I’d think your aids are Bluetooth enabled, not WiFi. But who knows, maybe WiFi also? If that were the case your aids would constantly be polling for a connection and eat their battery life up.

Welding with AC the frequency is so low compared to WiFi and Bluetooth, I’d be surprised if there was overlap. I don’t know if the welding machine you cited has a wireless pedal? There could be some interference with that in play? But if the pedal is wired connection, I’m back to my original state of dubious(ness).

odds are far more likely that its a bad connection, either collet, or torch/earth wiring, or even foot pedal wiring. which was bumped when you put the torch down to turn off the hearing aids.
lots of people have phones with wifi and Bluetooth next to welders without issues, and they have far higher powered wifi than any hearing aids will have.
