I was wondering if the magic square could achieve all the functionality of the mega, monster, mutant, and minion (if the bolt will actually resist the pulling forces). If so, would it be a good idea to just get two magic squares and a 3 axis square?
I feel like there is probably something I am missing and a mega square would be a good idea. So, would one mega, one magic square, and one 3 axis be a good combo? My thoughts are that using the magic square pieces individually could replace the minions, and the mega square has all the functionality and more compared to the monster and mutant. So, if i ever needed another square I could add one more mega for a total of 2.
General welding questions that dont fit in TIG, MIG, Stick, or Certification etc.

For building anything "frame related" the longer the measured side, the straighter it will be. Even if you dont use a 12" constantly, they are invaluable when needed. I have a combo square, several 8", a few 12" and some 24-48" straight edges. And I have even pulled out a piece of rectangular 12' on the odd occasion.
To do welding work, 2x as many clamps as you think you'll need, and then a bunch more. Finding a way to restrict distortion, hold things dead plumb and square, and ensuring level are critical.
Buy once, cry once only ever applies to large equipment and tool purchases. Clamps, squares, etc are essential toolbox fillers.

It’s pretty hard to make a recommendation without understanding the types of work you do specifically and what other tooling/fixtures you have.
Any combination can work in some environment. Whether those will work in yours mostly you should be the judge.
