Fire Bricks

So my Boss changed up the bricks in his fireplace. and not all of them are cracked and some looks pretty good condition. is there some alternate use in the fabrication world that I am unaware of? They just seem so useful but i just cant place it.

if you had a couple dozen more you could use them to make an enclosure to hold a cast iron repair job while you heat it to weld/braze temp.

Something to prop both hands/arms on which won't conduct heat and won't melt/catch on fire, like a big casting you've pre-heated. Tigfingers are great but sometimes you want to prop both hands/arms. S/F....Ken M

I would use these bricks for sitting my crucibles on while casting small metal parts.

I like that idea. something really solid i can use and i can build em up too.
