the place where i work is going from the old fashioned sign in sheet to the newfangled palm scan. with tens of thousands of employees i guess this makes sense but after 25+ years of scratching my name on a time sheet i'm not anxious to change. does anyone here have one at work and if so what do you think about it?

Never seen one - but if everyone uses it with greasy black hands it may go wrong & they'll revert to the old way ! - it occurs to me that's going to make life difficult signing your mates off shift that bunked off early ! still could be worse - at least their not going to have you all bar coded on the wrist like the Skynet work camp dudes.

they use these at the local factories, but not at my place. Great way to spread diseases though.

never even thought of the germ aspect. i may bring that up although i doubt it will change anything because they've already spent a few hundred million setting it up. between the cameras and now this i'm kinda glad i'm bailing out shortly.

With the burns and abrasions I'm always getting, my palm may not look the same from day-to-day!
