59 yrs. young. Q? Union or not. I have almost 40 years of construction background, with several years of welding under my belt, re: petrol recycling, maintenance, and ornamental iron. I have just recently graduated from an 2 yr. accredited college welding program, with certs in 3G & 4G SMAW & FCAW, 1" +. Looking at some of the posts, I gather that the union halls, namely AR., are screaming for welders. I almost certified 6G, but time constraints were limited. And with the way the economy and our government is going, no SSI for me in the near future. So my name should tell the whole story. No retirement for me. I will retire with a stinger in my hand, a hood on, when that clock stops ticking. Thanks for reading. Thanks for your input.

you're in the building trades all your life and now you're thinking about going union? let's see, you're 59 now so by the time you accumulate enough pension credits you should be around 80. even so you may as well get the most amount of cash for your labors so go for it. which union??notgoindnw/oafight wrote:59 yrs. young.
