General welding questions that dont fit in TIG, MIG, Stick, or Certification etc.
I have Everlast 250EX over a year now.. No i have reasently started to stick weld whit it normaly i use KEMPPI. And i dont understand what is the problem when i weld 2mm rods 7018 (Elga,Esab,Lincoln) overhead/vertical 52-62A it starts bad and when i have weld couple seconds it snuffs out??? Same rod amps and everything whit KEMPPI no problem... 2,5mm rods burns fine whit everlast when i use like 80A or more, but at low end at amps comes problems and maybe i have noticed that when i have burn couple rods its start to weld better "maybe"? Arc force works because i can hear sound differently when its 0-10 Feals like there is something wrong at voltages so that it doesent keep thoose volts enought high (Arc brakes)?? Tig works beautiful AC/DC allways has been arc starts fine and is stabile.. Anyone had same thoots/problems whit their stick machines? Have tried rods in owen and bretty much all brands..

I've not used that machine, so I'll offer the obvious first:
You are switching to "electrode-positive", right?
There are several everlast users here, so you'll get more answers than this, I'm sure.

Just a couple welders and a couple of big hammers and torches.
