really interested in brazing to get the color.
tried a/c and d/c
tried silicon bronze
tried aluminum bronze
all im getting in horrible beads
and tons of porosity
please help
General welding questions that dont fit in TIG, MIG, Stick, or Certification etc.

Since we don't have a specific forum for brazing processes, I'll move this over to "general shop talk", which everyone active here visits. (The "how to use the forum" section is intended for instructions on things like posting pictures, linking videos, etc.)
I do a lot of silver brazing, but it's not for color, so I'll defer to others on that subject.

I thought we had athread awhile back about this same subject, but I don't have time right now to look it up. I think it was about matching colors on a brazed frame on a motorcycle.

also the filler wire acts like there is not enough heat, it clumps at the end
its on 1/8 mild steel, im on dc
my using gold band tungsten
cfh is at 25 and amps are at 110
aluminum bronze filler.
also tried ac, same results

never have. I just wanted to try the way jody did it in his lamp post video. now that I cant do it, it keeps me up at night. iwas thinking maybe ill have to preheat my work piece.kermdawg wrote:Never brazed with a tig torch but have you considered oxyacetylene?
