Silicon Bronze rods

Good Morning To All,

I watched Jody fabricate several piggy banks and he used Silicon Bronze filler-rods to TIG the parts. Being new to this forum (as well as welding), I have quickly learned that there are seemingly countless filler-rods available for various metals. Prior to joining this Forum I purchased rods for joining Stainless Steel to Copper. I chose, from Wisconsin Wire Works, WWW-A2-Bronze Weld. My local welding supplier did a search and matched Wisconsin Wire Works parts number with, I think, Silicon Bronze (ERCuSi-A) AWS A5.6 thus I was sold Silicon Bronze (ERCuSi-A) AWS A5.6.

1. Is this the same rod that Jody used when he welded the pigs?

2. Is the rod that I have ordered a brazing rod or a welding rod because Jody did make the distinction that he was using a brazing rod?

Thanks,
Harold

Good Morning Southpaw,

Thanks for pointing me to the website. In passing, do you feel comfortable answering the questions that I asked when posting this thread?

Thanks,
Harold
