Recommendations for cart

Just picked up a Hobart 210 MVP. It seems pretty heavy compared to some of the smaller units. What do folks recommend for a cart? Most of what I see seem tall, I would like something low profile to keep the center of gravity down. Thanks in advance for your input.

Jody's done a couple video series on welding carts. They're both two-level carts, but there's no reason you couldn't build a shorter version of either one with only one shelf. He built 'em out of 1.5" square tube because he got it free, but says that 1", 0.125" wall would do the job just fine.

If you don't want to build one, Northern Tool has several carts at fairly decent prices. I have one of theirs and it's a good cart for the price. Decent build quality and all.

If you decide to build, don't forget to post pics of your creation.

I have the same machine. I went up from the Hobart Handler 135 up to the 210 and the 210 is much heavier. My cart is one of the cheap bolt together sheetmetal stand that you can get from many of the box stores. I have not found any problems with the height or top heavy issues. I plan to build a better, fancier stand at some point, but the cheapo has been just fine for me.

Good luck.

This may give you an idea. It is now powder coated and in use I made this last month.
