This guy is, but I guess I can't complain it is double time  Quick coffee break then more welding in the ceiling...no matter how much I do not, I hate wearing the harness while welding on scaffolding.

Not this guy... I'm drinking beer after a trip to the laundromat. I have one more day of actual work, then a day of "ten minutes of paperwork", then I'm ROF'd.

"ROF" equals "reduction of force", a polite way of saying laid off or down-sized.

Better than "ROMF", which is a "run-off mother f@#%er", a non-polite way of saying, "fired".

Sorry to hear that, Steve. Hope you're able to line up something else real soon.

It never fails to amaze me that companies will get rid of or piss off the people in their organisations that know their business best and have the most valuable skills to them but chose to keep cheaper no hopers. These companies always end up going by way of the dodo. Don't worry, one door closes and another one opens.

Steve, I'm sure you'll find work quick with your skill set, good workers are hard to find!

Like I say, brother, check into those instructional positions at those community colleges. I know they are far, but you could rent a room for the week and travel home on weekends. Good luck to you on your job search! You are too skilled to be sitting for long.
God Bless!

Not as a welder, but, I worked only 2 Sundays in 40 years as an equipment operator, once for 1/2 a day & once for 12 hours.

(made enough on that 12 hr shift to buy a new lc ws BIG big screen tv, when they were really expensive!)

The bean-counters are shutting our whole facility down, putting seven specialists out of work. No one in power is taking responsibility for pissing off all our customers; They're blaming the economy.

Idiots.
