backordered

So, I ordered a Bobcat 250 with electric fuel pump. It had not shipped, so my mom called them for me. LOL She said it may be another week. I had emailed them as well. I got a response today. They are back ordered and will not have more in until July 18th. haha That sucks. Other places around said the same thing.

I was wondering, are Miller machines still made in the U.S.? It is cool to me. I do it as a hobby and am just starting out. But man, what about the guys that do it for a living? I would guess they have other places they can get machines from. But wow, backordered until the 18th. That sucks.

THEN, I would wonder. Do they ship to big companies first? I could understand that. I mean, a company would NEED the machines. I just want mine. haha

Far as I know, Miller is still made in Appleton, WI.

Welding machines assembled in Appleton. What probably honestly happened was a bunch of people, more than Miller thought, bought bobcats when they had the rebate going on and got backed up.

I had totally forgotten about that rebate. haha Cyberweld told me to mark in my order, reminding them to send that rebate to me. Also, I ordered a cover and some bar things that were like, $10 extra. But, I did that, so I got another $50 rebate.

Cyberweld rocked at helping me before. I think I will buy most of my stuff from them.

There is a palce called Earlbeck around me. They have a four hour class on mig, tig and stick welding. I think I will take that. I mean, it is only $150. Always fun to learn. :D

I've taken some classes and all of my tests at Earl Beck, good group of guys down there. Their pricing isn't too bad on Miller parts and accessories and they have a lot of the little stuff on the floor. I work in Hunt Valley ;)

Unfortunately, You are the victim of so called "just in time inventory". It seems that both the red and blue engage in this business philosophy. When red came out with their new tig machine this last year I tried to find one and got the "it's back-ordered and we don't know when we will get them" answer from every dealer I called.

I find it mystifying that big companies don't, or can't do better market research. I bought a competitors machine because I couldn't wait.
