Hey Jody ,
Just watched your vid and as usual good stuff. Those parts are pad eyes or weld eyes depending on who you ask ;) . If you used an eye bolt you would either have to time the thread or use a jam nut to hold the part in the right position. PITA..
Used to specify these all the time for use on rod handling tools in the drill industry work great and are designed to be welded for ease of install.
Keep up the good vids they are great for the younger crowd aspiring in the industry..

Impromptu pad-eyes are, in some regions, called "assholes", because of the appearance of the hole from quickly hacking them out with a torch... :lol:

I remember, as a green hand to road work, being told, "Go cut me a half-dozen 1 inch assholes from 3/8 plate..."
