How about thin gauge steel or even stainless with 1/16 electrodes? Even use a 120 volt inverter source. Apologies if it's already out there but l couldn't find anything.

I ran a little no name 110v inverter the machine and the leads only weighed about 10 lbs. think it maxed out on the dial at about 80 or 90 amps. But even then it had trouble keeping a 3/32 6010 lit. It would run 1/16 though. Then I used 3/32 7018. Used it quite a bit actually.
I have more questions than answers

i would have to second the 1/16 electrode idea.. i mean there out there but i evan am not overly sure how u would go about welding with them on thin stuff..
