Hey guys, I have 2 sets of 4 brand new Miller OEM point spark gaps. Miller part number 020603
These have never been installed. They are brand new. From Miller they are $38.24 +++. Other
retailers are as much as $50.00 a set.

I'll take $25 for a set of 4 plus shipping. Paypal or US Postal Money Order.

These do burn out with age and use. They fit most Miller HF units & welding machines.

I sold my Miller HF-20 and my Dialarc so they are no longer needed.

Thanks for looking! Spark On! ;)

I have a guess, but don't know for sure, what is the function of these spark gaps? I just bought a Miller Dialark 250 HF. I could use some coaching.

These are used in conjunction with a transformer and a few other components to create the HF AC current to start and/or stabilize the arc for tig welding. It works sort of like a Tesla Coil.
They are set in pairs and are gapped to .008"

BTW, your machine uses these parts. I still have one set left if you should need them.

Mine look to be in good condition. I'm very curious how they work. In gasoline engines a magnetic field builds in the primary winding of a coil, the breaker points open breaking the power supply to the electromagnet. The magnetic field collapses on to the secondary winding inducing a high voltage spark able to jump across a spark gap. To a lesser degree a second voltage is induced in the primary winding. A capacitor or condenser cushions this to prevent point burning.

Does something like this happen in a welder to give higher frequency? How high?
